The best title ever

We left for our 28-hour passage from Newport to New York City. We left Newport on Friday morning at 6 AM and sailed into New York around 10 AM on Saturday morning.

We sailed in through Hell Gate Bridge. The bridge was named for the once dangerous channel it crossed. It’s name is derived from the Dutch word “hellegat”, which means “hell channel”. We also had the opportunity to see Riker’s Island which sits on the East River between Queens and the Bronx. The Island houses New York city’s main prison complex.
